FPCA Sept Meeting

Franklin Park Civic Association Monthly Meeting Recap

The Franklin Park Civic Association’s September meeting featured updates on health, workforce development, neighborhood business, and upcoming community events.

Sophia introduced Walk with a Doc (https://walkwithadoc.org/join-a-walk/locations/columbus-ohio-franklin-park/) a free program combining health education, movement, social connection, and time outdoors. Franklin Park’s new chapter will launch with its first walk on October 3 at 10am led by Joanna and Sylvia, followed by a celebration on November 7 from 9-11am.

Tomiqua Perry of Perry Logistics (www.perrylogisticsdispatch.com) shared local workforce development opportunities and training programs that introduce residents to careers across the logistics industry.

Members also reviewed the association’s finances, discussed forming a Near East Side Business Association, and shared updates about garden activities, neighborhood events, transportation, public safety, and voting initiatives—including “Donuts for Democracy.”

The meeting closed with a warm welcome to new members and a call for residents, businesses, and community partners to stay involved.

We hope to see you at a future meeting!
